I'll just re-cap our summer since that is the only time we do anything! We started our summer with having Jacob, Brian, and Kevin here for a little over a week. All the kids had so much fun together. We timed it so that I would be taking them home for Katrina's wedding. After having a month of car issues (which finally got resolved the morning we left) I was a little nervous driving across that desert with six kids by myself, but we made it! Even better, it only took us about seven hours, and that was with four rest area stops, one lunch stop, and one gas fill up! It was super hot in Phoenix, big surprise, and the kids continued to play well together. The wedding and reception were beautiful and I loved visiting with everyone. <br />
<br />
July brought about a birthday. Alexis turned seven this year. One of Mike's co-workers made these crabby patty cupcakes. They looked and tasted really good!
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bq6WGnHUs3k/UEgnqLc-qTI/AAAAAAAAAgw/Xq4MSwVJ8JE/s1600/summer+2012+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bq6WGnHUs3k/UEgnqLc-qTI/AAAAAAAAAgw/Xq4MSwVJ8JE/s320/summer+2012+011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the cake I put together for her when family came over. Like I've said before, it's a good thing they taste good because I do not have the decorative touch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l3n0dalhLFQ/UEgnszwRkjI/AAAAAAAAAg4/icftVJNgnO8/s1600/summer+2012+016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l3n0dalhLFQ/UEgnszwRkjI/AAAAAAAAAg4/icftVJNgnO8/s320/summer+2012+016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In August, Mike had a week of training in Newport Beach, I know, rough. We took the opportunity to head up to the hills and spent a week at Big Meadow. It started off with a lot of excitement. As soon as we got there, one of our friends was trying to disconnect his fifth wheel and got his hand stuck in the crank. He knew if he didn't get loose, it would take his finger off, so he yanked it out! It ripped the finger open all the way to the bone, so they came to borrow a car to go to the hospital. My parents then noticed that they had a flat tire, so I quickly had the kids help me unload our car and sent them on their way. That was enough excitement for one week, so we spent the rest of the time playing lots of dominos and other games. Corinna, Carissa, and Caitlyn came up for a few days but they had to leave early to get the girls registered for high school. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kwcx0VAyPhc/UEgqjYjbFHI/AAAAAAAAAhM/b-IaEahPlEk/s1600/summer+2012+021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kwcx0VAyPhc/UEgqjYjbFHI/AAAAAAAAAhM/b-IaEahPlEk/s320/summer+2012+021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After we got home, I got a phone call from Dustin's scout leader. She said if Dustin completed two things, he would have his bear. One was to make an emergency contact list, and the other was to write down ways that he practices his religion. We did those and he received his award. Here he is trying to stab me with the mother's pin. Who thought of that idea? I know let's give young boys this sharp object and have them pin it to their mother's shirt! It's a little scary. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We've been in school for about two and a half weeks now. I took first day of school pictures with my cell phone this year and have not down loaded them. I think we got some good teachers this year. My only complaint is that the class sizes are huge and I know the teachers cannot offer the individual attention that kids need sometimes. So far they have all done okay, so hopefully that continues on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And now for the next piece of news. Mike is getting his own Best Buy store! They are opening a Best Buy Mobile in our mall. Mike interviewed for and got the general manager position. He will be starting in a couple of weeks. He will be spending some time in Florida for training. Bummer for him, huh? The store will have its grand opening on Black Friday. We will probably not see Mike from late October until late January. Go ahead, laugh. But it's true. He'll be working or sleeping. Fun times! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know I need to keep up on this better. I've been a slacker. I hope all is well with everybody!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Lots of sleep, and not getting out of bed early. We had a gigantic family reunion at the end of June. I love spending time with my family. All of the kids were good. We didn't have any major meltdowns or injuries. It was great. While we were there, Mike had an interview (over the phone) with Best Buy and was hired on our last day there. He is super happy with his new job and is loving it. </div><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-35qkUNeFLG8/TnafsWUz9kI/AAAAAAAAAgE/1kz35q9RKCM/s1600/James%2Bfamily%2Breunion%2B2011%2B116.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5653881966466168386" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-35qkUNeFLG8/TnafsWUz9kI/AAAAAAAAAgE/1kz35q9RKCM/s320/James%2Bfamily%2Breunion%2B2011%2B116.JPG" /></a> Here are my parents with all of the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">grand kids</span> who were at the reunion.<br /><br /><div>After we got home, I realized that it was Alexis' birthday in a few days! I was too tired to deal with a party, so we bought her some presents, took her out to pick out her cake, frosting, and ice cream flavor, and invited over family. SIX! </div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VEUN9c4A4fA/TnagQLU6D3I/AAAAAAAAAgM/Q8IJT1rg_Yc/s1600/summer%2B2011%2B003.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5653882581989068658" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VEUN9c4A4fA/TnagQLU6D3I/AAAAAAAAAgM/Q8IJT1rg_Yc/s320/summer%2B2011%2B003.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>The following week, Emily went to her first year of girls camp. No, she is not twelve yet, but our stake (and maybe others?) has decided to take the girls the year that they turn twelve so that they are staying with the other girls in the same class at church. I'm glad that they did this, because she would have been very sad not being with her friends every year.</div><br /><br /><div>After she got home, and before Mike started his new job, we decided to take the kids to the beach for a couple of days. They had lots of fun playing in the sand and water, I taught them how to boogie board, and we met up with some cousins and had a BBQ. It was a fun and relaxing time. </div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1sdTb5zGAME/Tnags43OroI/AAAAAAAAAgU/FCIB6TGneOg/s1600/summer%2B2011%2B009.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5653883075248959106" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1sdTb5zGAME/Tnags43OroI/AAAAAAAAAgU/FCIB6TGneOg/s320/summer%2B2011%2B009.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>Mike started out his new job with a week in the Los Angeles area for training. While he was gone, I took the kids and visited Corinna for a couple of days, and we took all the kids to the beach for a day. They had lots of fun again. We love our cousins!</div><br /><br /><div>Immediately after getting home, we had to pack Mike up and take him to the airport for a week in Minnesota for more training! I decided that would be a good time to head up into the hills, so we spent the week at Big Meadow. It was wonderful getting out of the heat and enjoying the peaceful nature. </div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p4PIS5yS2qU/TnahDaJ0HhI/AAAAAAAAAgc/CCI2Is0GpX0/s1600/summer%2B2011%2B014.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5653883462142402066" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p4PIS5yS2qU/TnahDaJ0HhI/AAAAAAAAAgc/CCI2Is0GpX0/s320/summer%2B2011%2B014.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>Once we got home, summer was pretty much over, so the final week was spent preparing to go back to school. We had a warm, sunny day, so I went out and took the training wheels off and called Alexis outside. She was excited for about a minute, then decided she was scared and wanted to quit. I told her that we were out there, the wheels were off, and we were doing it now! I ran up and down the street with her for about half an hour before she was confident. Now there is no stopping her! Since no one else was home, I had to take the pictures while running next to her, but they didn't turn out too bad. <br /><p></p><br /><p><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jom1eK1444M/TaTQv0RHuMI/AAAAAAAAAfg/4Bro_5Rqoyc/s1600/Early%2B2011%2B031.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594826157003880642" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jom1eK1444M/TaTQv0RHuMI/AAAAAAAAAfg/4Bro_5Rqoyc/s320/Early%2B2011%2B031.JPG" /></a> If you look closely, you can see the "tongue of concentration". When she is concentrating really hard on something, her tongue comes out, or pokes out her cheek. I'm glad she didn't fall and bite it!</p><br /><p>Later that month, I got a call from her teacher saying that she was chosen for student of the month! She said that Alexis is very sweet and nice to everyone. She has never cried or acted up in class and tries to help other kids in her class when she can. </p><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P2-5YVWe2rA/TaTR7Uwfr1I/AAAAAAAAAf4/ObZ8_vTcRVg/s1600/Early%2B2011%2B035.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594827454215597906" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P2-5YVWe2rA/TaTR7Uwfr1I/AAAAAAAAAf4/ObZ8_vTcRVg/s320/Early%2B2011%2B035.JPG" /></a> Here she is getting her medal from our <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">PTC</span> president. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZOV7c4EwIT8/TaTR7KJ_5-I/AAAAAAAAAfw/H4OefSQ_l40/s1600/Early%2B2011%2B036.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594827451369777122" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZOV7c4EwIT8/TaTR7KJ_5-I/AAAAAAAAAfw/H4OefSQ_l40/s320/Early%2B2011%2B036.JPG" /></a> And with some of the other <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">kindergartners</span>. (It was also the 100<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">th</span> day of school, so that is why the little boy next to her is wearing that) <br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0nl4uFYTFZE/TaTR63gdyoI/AAAAAAAAAfo/WNiaFNRjScM/s1600/Early%2B2011%2B040.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594827446363736706" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0nl4uFYTFZE/TaTR63gdyoI/AAAAAAAAAfo/WNiaFNRjScM/s320/Early%2B2011%2B040.JPG" /></a> And finally with her teacher Mrs. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Ramey</span>. We love her! She is the best kindergarten teacher ever!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>In February, Mike and I were able to take a little mini-vacation and flew to Austin, Texas. We had fun visiting the state capitol and the Texas state history museum. We also went to the University of Texas (go Longhorns). We drove to San Antonio to see the Alamo. We got there at 5:35pm, only to discover that the Alamo closes at 5:30pm! Slightly <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">disappointed</span> (especially after we paid the $10 to park, and they did not inform us of this). We were still able to look through all of the openings, we just didn't get to read the signs or take a tour. Oh well. We walked along the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">riverwalk</span>. It was a very beautiful place. We need something like that In Bakersfield! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>March (and so far in April) have been super busy months because baseball and softball season have started. I am running most nights of the week. It gets a little crazy some nights when both Emily and Dustin have games or practice. I am looking forward to Spring Break. We don't have any big plans, but these kids are not going to be happy when they discover that they have to clean! I decided we are doing one major house project a day (such as cleaning windows). I've also decided that at least Emily and Dustin are going to learn how to iron clothes. Every Sunday morning I call for clothes to be ironed. Sometimes I get a shirt or dress, sometimes I don't. Then it comes time to get dressed and I'll be in the middle of curling my hair when a frantic child will show up wanting something ironed. I won't do it at that point. Therefore, they will be learning to iron and be in charge of doing it themselves. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Well, I've ranted enough for today! </div><br /><div></div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-54444176727060002952010-12-24T11:43:00.000-08:002010-12-24T11:54:38.094-08:00Christmas Letter 2010<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TRT6dGHJKbI/AAAAAAAAAfM/Vf7o_OVLWBs/s1600/2010%2B532.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5554339618218387890" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TRT6dGHJKbI/AAAAAAAAAfM/Vf7o_OVLWBs/s320/2010%2B532.JPG" /></a><br /><div>It's been a busy year! Mike and I have been going back to school. We both got our AA's recently. Mike continues to work full time at T-Mobile. I hold the house together, drive the kids to all of their activities, and sometimes get to take naps! Mike was just called to teach the nine year olds at church, and I have been leading the music in sacrament meeting since March.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Emily just turned 11 and is in the 6th grade, which is at the middle school in our district. The surgeon said that she could not have any trauma to it for a year. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>We have all been good and healthy. We decided to skip the expense of buying and mailing Christmas cards this year, so we are going this way. The food was good, but it's always good when I don't have to cook it! The kids stayed up at the lake and Mike and I went home and did a little midnight shopping on "black Friday". We were home and in bed before most people left their houses. We drove by several stores on the way home just to laugh at the people who were camping out. Crazy people.<br /><br />Anyhow... Dustin's birthday was that Saturday, so after I got the kids home, I made the cake and we celebrated after Mike got home from work. This was his eighth birthday, so he got new scriptures with a case, a CTR ring, and a CTR tie. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-yuWD1I/AAAAAAAAAew/r0gAQL6b0NI/s1600/2010%2B519.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550354467478966098" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-yuWD1I/AAAAAAAAAew/r0gAQL6b0NI/s320/2010%2B519.JPG" /> <p align="center"></a>Looking at the pictures in his new scriptures.<br /><br /></p><div align="left"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-iV9nDI/AAAAAAAAAeo/XiuIfNVQQQs/s1600/2010%2B517.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550354463081733170" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-iV9nDI/AAAAAAAAAeo/XiuIfNVQQQs/s320/2010%2B517.JPG" /></a> Holding up the new tie.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-QdUuiI/AAAAAAAAAeg/phSiyCGoze8/s1600/2010%2B516.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550354458280770082" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbR-QdUuiI/AAAAAAAAAeg/phSiyCGoze8/s320/2010%2B516.JPG" /></a> Blowing out eight candles.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div align="left">Dustin was baptised the next Saturday, (which was actually the first weekend in December, but it's still going here). We were happy to have some family and friends come to celebrate with us. We had a nice lunch at our home afterwards. It was nice and relaxing to sit and visit. The dog even behaved herself! I forgot to get the picture of the boys in their whites, but oh well! I took a picture of them after. Oh, I forgot, we also bought Dustin his first suit!<br /></div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbTX7cjFXI/AAAAAAAAAe4/kUWR68qmw5w/s1600/2010%2B527.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550355998828598642" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbTX7cjFXI/AAAAAAAAAe4/kUWR68qmw5w/s320/2010%2B527.JPG" /></a> The boys were in their suits, I choose a black and white dress, I came out of my room and Emily was wearing a black and white dress, and Alexis was sporting bright yellows and pinks, so I changed her into a black and white dress also and decided to get some family pictures while we were all dressed up.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbUWVaqhyI/AAAAAAAAAfA/7WwOW-Z41kw/s1600/2010%2B533.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550357070951909154" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbUWVaqhyI/AAAAAAAAAfA/7WwOW-Z41kw/s320/2010%2B533.JPG" /></a> Unfortunatly, someone is making a face in every single one of them, except for this one. Alexis' hair is all messed up, but nothing I can do about it now. Everyone wanted out of their dressy clothes by this point, so they weren't cooperating very well. </div><div align="left">That's what's been going on around here! That's all that needs to be said. The school had the annual, crazy, unorganized, Halloween parade again. The kids love it, so can't complain too much. Emily did not dress up for school. I don't know if it's because the middle school will not allow it, or if it's just because that's not cool!<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNIFVj7UI/AAAAAAAAAd4/GJfIReNUeow/s1600/2010%2B504.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550349129535974722" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNIFVj7UI/AAAAAAAAAd4/GJfIReNUeow/s320/2010%2B504.JPG" /></a> Dustin wanted to be a mad scientist. His idea of that was to wear a lab coat and to have toxic green hair. So we made it happen.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNIrFzXcI/AAAAAAAAAeA/Prk1-m36W6o/s1600/2010%2B506.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550349139670425026" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNIrFzXcI/AAAAAAAAAeA/Prk1-m36W6o/s320/2010%2B506.JPG" /></a> Alexis got her pick of Emily's old costumes. She choose the "snow princess" one. This is the costume that Emily wore the year Alexis was born, so at about the same age.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNI8x8IlI/AAAAAAAAAeI/xyAtBQlcHc4/s1600/2010%2B513.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550349144418951762" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbNI8x8IlI/AAAAAAAAAeI/xyAtBQlcHc4/s320/2010%2B513.JPG" /></a> Emily wanted to be a pirate, so we borrowed everything and she was happy. It was a beg, borrow, and steal kind of Halloween around here. Mike is dressed as a guy in a jersey. Saturday was super busy, a day full of parties.<br /><br /><br />We had to celebrate Emily's (and Eddie's) birthday, then rush over to rollerama for a skating, costume party. (Her orthodontist rented the place for all of his clients) I think I had more fun than the kids, they kept falling. As soon as that was done, we went straight to the church for our annual "trunk-or-treat". It was a busy day. Luckily Mike got the day off and was able to spend it with us.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbPTDiGbYI/AAAAAAAAAeQ/qYn_aEAixIQ/s1600/2010%2B510.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550351517053513090" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbPTDiGbYI/AAAAAAAAAeQ/qYn_aEAixIQ/s320/2010%2B510.JPG" /></a> Emily = 11.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbPTUeBxCI/AAAAAAAAAeY/Qj2Rpe4kyro/s1600/2010%2B512.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550351521599833122" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TQbPTUeBxCI/AAAAAAAAAeY/Qj2Rpe4kyro/s320/2010%2B512.JPG" /></a> Eddie = Emily + 30!Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-82294668211793108262010-10-04T21:33:00.000-07:002010-10-04T21:41:44.621-07:00Alexis' baby teethSunday, we were sitting in church waiting for sacrament meeting to start when I heard "<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Eeeewwwww</span>! Gross!" from the pew behind me. I turned around and said "What?" I was then informed that Alexis was pushing her bottom front two teeth completely flat with her tongue. As we were getting dressed she had said that her teeth were loose, but I just brushed her off thinking she's too young to lose teeth. When we got home one of them was hanging there and she refused to eat, so Mike pushed it out.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqrg4NUx4I/AAAAAAAAAdo/aIisJ6HfnR4/s1600/dead+battery+008.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524416474255771522" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqrg4NUx4I/AAAAAAAAAdo/aIisJ6HfnR4/s320/dead+battery+008.JPG" /></a><br /><p>There it is. Her teeth were/are terrible and I don't want her getting made fun of for them. She spent most of the summer in spacers and then moving her molars back. She finally got the braces put on last week and chose pink and green rubberbands. The ladies said that is a very popular choice right now (as I bit my tongue). </div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-22281611998014716022010-10-04T21:22:00.000-07:002010-10-04T21:29:21.445-07:00Award Day<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqo0I4v1xI/AAAAAAAAAdY/Fv8iyu3O1gc/s1600/Summer+2010+031.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524413506615498514" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqo0I4v1xI/AAAAAAAAAdY/Fv8iyu3O1gc/s320/Summer+2010+031.JPG" /></a> Dustin got the first student of the month award this year (again). She has to catch the bus at 7:30 every morning, so her picture was alone because the other two were no where near ready. I walked her to the bus stop the first day and quickly realized that it's not cool for mom to walk you to the bus stop.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqmtzwyu2I/AAAAAAAAAdA/zAfcfHHFL2Y/s1600/Summer+2010+002.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524411198842518370" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TKqmtzwyu2I/AAAAAAAAAdA/zAfcfHHFL2Y/s320/Summer+2010+002.JPG" /></a> Dustin was pretending to be mad about going to school. I knew he was really excited. He started second grade this year. Alexis could hardly wait to start kindergarten. She'd been asking me to go since her birthday. She didn't understand why she was five and not going to school.<br />My pictures are washed out because I was in a hurry and forgot to check the settings. I need to remember to do that.<br />So far they seem to be doing well at school. I haven't heard many complaints. Except from Emily. My baby is five! I'm sad. Everybody keeps asking me what I am going to do when she goes to school and I just want to cry and yell I don't know! So, just don't ask me. It kind of ruins my whole day.<br /><br />Her birthday landed on a Saturday this year. Mom and Pop have been serving at the temple every year so far on her birthday, so we decided to have a party. We rented a giant, inflatable water slide and invited a bunch of kids over. I had Carissa and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Caitlyn</span> here while Corinna was on vacation, and Jerry, Laurie, and their kids all showed up too! She had about nine kids from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">church</span> show up, so it wasn't too big. (There are 30 kids her age). I made three cakes, and they all got eaten up! The main cake was this one. I am not taking credit for the decorating. I baked it, but about half an hour before the party started, none of the cakes were frosted, Mike had <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">disappeared</span>, and I was feeling desperate. I called my neighbor Jaime. I honestly don't know how I would ever survive without her. I just wanted it frosted, she went above that and it was beautiful! Thank you Jaime! Just remember, I owe you!<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEZkJb-liI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/zqOk91aGqk0/s1600/July+2010+030.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494701129167967778" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEZkJb-liI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/zqOk91aGqk0/s320/July+2010+030.JPG" /></a> The kids all had a great time playing outside. We were also able to get "buy an adult, get a kid free" tickets to Legoland, so we took a few days in May and went to both. We drove down to Los Angeles on Saturday morning. I spent the afternoon apartment shopping with Alena, while Mike and the kids went to a mall and walked around. We drove to our hotel that evening and walked around downtown Disney. We got to see the fireworks and we ate at the RainForest Cafe. I got a migraine and spent way too much on a bottle of pills, but it was worth it!</div><br /><div>Sunday morning we woke up and drove to Carlsbad. Wait in line! We had to redeem our tickets at a booth. It wasn't so bad. We got into the park about half an hour after they opened. I didn't take very many pictures because I was too busy having fun. This was my first ever trip (since being married) without a stroller. Kind of strange, but much easier to manuver. Emily got picked to do Jedi Training. She fought Darth Maul. I'm telling you, the people who work there must be dying in those costumes with all that makeup on. It was only the first weekend of May and it was pretty warm out. </div></div></div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEVJlt1AWI/AAAAAAAAAcA/fJ3EHOg3J_I/s1600/May+2010+134.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494696274856051042" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEVJlt1AWI/AAAAAAAAAcA/fJ3EHOg3J_I/s320/May+2010+134.JPG" /></a> In the teacups, waiting to go.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEVJOeN78I/AAAAAAAAAb4/Gajnz_t8cXo/s1600/May+2010+133.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494696268616560578" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEVJOeN78I/AAAAAAAAAb4/Gajnz_t8cXo/s320/May+2010+133.JPG" /></a> Dustin and Emily. It was so awesome! We met at about 7pm, and the park closed at 8pm, but we were in there until about 8:30, so we stayed together and talked as fast as we could! The kids crashed before we got onto the freeway, so it was a nice, quiet ride home. </p><br /><p>And FYI, this is what happens to a Reeses when it gets lost in the bottom of a backpack for two days while walking around in the heat. My friend got us $37 plane tickets (plus taxes and fees, but still super cheap!) It was kind of a last minute thing, but we had a great time. It was actually January that we went, but I took my super cheesy kodak easy share camera which I hardly ever use, and I just now downloaded the photos. </div><br /><div>We poked around the city, we drove to Mount Rainier and saw lots of snow and waterfalls, we took a ferry across the bay and walked around, we went to the very first Starbucks, visited Pike Place Market, and I paid $17 to scare the crud out of myself. That's right. I went to the top of the Space Needle. </div><br /><div>We were only there for an extended weekend, but we packed it full of activities. It is such a beautiful place. Everything is green and lush. (That's because it rains ALL THE TIME!) Here are a very few pictures because most of them did not come out very good! Enjoy!</div><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEOPLNAqxI/AAAAAAAAAaw/R2FZ2ibQ0OY/s1600/May+2010+069.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494688674236902162" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEOPLNAqxI/AAAAAAAAAaw/R2FZ2ibQ0OY/s320/May+2010+069.JPG" /></a> Downtown Seattle from on top of the Space Needle. It was so overcast that we couldn't see anything anyway.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEN_k59X1I/AAAAAAAAAag/mB0XhaB_ErU/s1600/May+2010+026.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494688406258409298" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEN_k59X1I/AAAAAAAAAag/mB0XhaB_ErU/s320/May+2010+026.JPG" /></a> I liked how this tree was growing out of the rocks. That is one tree split into many trunks. You can't tell, but they are all connected together at the bottom.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEN_FrH-zI/AAAAAAAAAaY/8q6L2tHKaIQ/s1600/May+2010+023.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494688397874690866" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/TEEN_FrH-zI/AAAAAAAAAaY/8q6L2tHKaIQ/s320/May+2010+023.JPG" /></a> I loved how green everything was. Why is it that we can injure ourselves horribly and our bones will heal and our skin will regrow. Our blood vessels can mend themselves, and our nerves regeneraete. But our limbs don't grow back? So I replied,<br /><br />"I'm not sure why. It doesn't make any sense, does it?"<br /><br />I guess that was enough for her because she didn't ask any more whys. I'm going to have to start reading some deep science books to answer this ones questions.Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-35660667602388235392010-04-15T13:11:00.001-07:002010-04-15T13:45:15.042-07:00I'm still alive...I kind of dropped off of the face of the Earth for a while. Alexis ended up having surgery on her elbow and it was like having a baby again. Even though it was her left arm, I had to help her to eat for a while, and I had to take her to the bathroom every time. (She couldn't get on and off the toilet by herself, couldn't balance once she was up there, couldn't wipe, and couldn't wash her hand.) I also had to help her get dressed. It was not fun trying to find clothes that I could fit over the huge cast. For a while she wore a tank top and a shawl. We just took a blanket with us everywhere to keep her warm.<br /><br />For Christmas, Santa had already gotten her a scooter, so he had to scramble at the last minute to find something else. (He didn't think it would be very nice to give her something that she would not be able to use for a long time.)<br /><br />She only had the cast on for three weeks. They had to put pins in to hold her elbow in place. The pins were sticking out of the skin, so they had to remove them before they got infected. After that she was in a sling for another three weeks. We have to take her in for x-rays every couple of months for a year to make sure the elbow stays in the right place. The way it broke, it went through her growth plate and if they had not fixed it, her arm would have either stopped growing or would have retarded growth.<br /><br />Right now both Emily and Dustin are in baseball, so that is keeping me busy. It's kind of a pain on school nights.<br /><br />For Spring Break we went to Portland, Oregon for my <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">niece</span> Amy's wedding. She is the oldest granddaughter (of my parents) and the first to get married. Alexis was the flower girl. Since I am smart and organized, I forgot my camera at the house we were staying in. All I have is a picture of her in the dress when I tried it on her.<br /><p><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d1znIBczI/AAAAAAAAAZY/RKGtB8wWqPg/s1600/390.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460462602746426162" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d1znIBczI/AAAAAAAAAZY/RKGtB8wWqPg/s320/390.JPG" /></a> I am hoping to be able to get some pictures from the bride and groom once they are settled in. We had a good time seeing the sights. The kids traveled well, which was very nice. This is the first time they have ever been in the car for more than three hours. I take them to the beach, to the mountains, and to L.A. and that is about it. They watched a lot of movies and played with the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">DS's</span>. It kept them nicely busy. </p><p>On the way home we hit a huge snow storm over Mt. Shasta. There were a lot of people driving badly and sliding off of the road. We were scared that someone was going to slide into us, but decided to keep going. They closed the road right after we got over it. It took us an extra three hours to get over the summit. Here are a few pictures of it.<br /></p><br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d3ZpGNnbI/AAAAAAAAAZo/O0a-ODXzl2g/s1600/398.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460464355622362546" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d3ZpGNnbI/AAAAAAAAAZo/O0a-ODXzl2g/s320/398.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d3ZEtWt-I/AAAAAAAAAZg/bDt9Uphx6qw/s1600/397.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460464345854425058" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d3ZEtWt-I/AAAAAAAAAZg/bDt9Uphx6qw/s320/397.JPG" /></a> It was beautiful. If we were the only cars on the road it would have been okay. We just got really stressed about the other drivers.<br /><br />Today was Alexis' last day of preschool. She got out early because her teacher (unexpectedly) got pregnant at the beginning of the school year. She has to have her babies by c-section, and they just bumped her date up to the Monday after next, so she decided she wanted a week off to prepare her self and her house. At the last minute (literally after school started today) she decided to have a little graduation. So once again, no camera. I took a few pictures after we got home.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d4sy1lMtI/AAAAAAAAAaA/uaRvT2MsznU/s1600/401.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460465784166101714" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d4sy1lMtI/AAAAAAAAAaA/uaRvT2MsznU/s320/401.JPG" /></a> They made cute little hats and diplomas.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d4sXMKNMI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/brvF1zDKW5A/s1600/405.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460465776744608962" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/S8d4sXMKNMI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/brvF1zDKW5A/s320/405.JPG" /></a> And a few days ago they made these cute <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">hand print</span> stepping stones. The day after was Dustin's birthday. Since it was black Friday, Mike had to work. So we let him open his present that morning and had his cake on Sunday. Unfortunatly, uncle Eddie had a little bike accident (and broke both collarbones) on Friday, so Alice was going to stay home with him and my parents were going to bring the kids over, but...<br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSIChuToTI/AAAAAAAAAY4/jCvcvMqQsa8/s1600/November+2009+041.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410098629372518706" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSIChuToTI/AAAAAAAAAY4/jCvcvMqQsa8/s320/November+2009+041.JPG" /></a> Miss Alexis decided to climb up on the kitchen counter and fell off. Mike and I were both cooking dinner, so we were right there when it happened. Mike picked her up and I lifted her sleeve. The arm was already swollen and had a nasty lump on it. And she was screaming. We decided we'd better not put her in her carseat, so we called an ambulence. We were having friends over for dinner and they pulled up right when it happened and heard the screaming. We let them in and immediatly gave her a blessing. When they sat her in the ambulence, she was very pale and was swaying. She looked like she was going to pass out. That's about when my parents pulled up. Mike rode with her in the ambulence. I went inside with our friends and we went ahead and ate dinner, then did the cake and icecream for Dustin. They had to cut Alexis' shirt off of her. It was new. She cried about it, so the EMT's went back to the hospital and took her a teddy bear. They xray'd her and could not see a break, but her arm was sooooo swollen, and she flinched and yelled and almost cried every time it was touched. They put it in a hard splint and a sling and sent us home. We were told to see an orthopedist today. So today, they took her out of the splint and straightened her arm to xray it from all angles and she started crying again. It is still very swollen and black and blue. It just looks wrong. It looks like her elbow is broken, but with the swelling as bad as it is they cannot cast it. They put her back in the splint and sling and told us not to touch it for a week. They will re-xray it next week and decide what to do. They said that when they are this young, the bones are still pliable, so they can go up to two weeks before something needs to be done. It is not hurting her as long as she doesn't move it. Too much excitement here. Let's hope for a quiet December.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-51126252645435413622009-11-30T18:40:00.000-08:002009-11-30T18:59:45.651-08:00The end of October<div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSCkEL2reI/AAAAAAAAAYA/pVOjGovs4RA/s1600/November+2009+001.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410092608489172450" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSCkEL2reI/AAAAAAAAAYA/pVOjGovs4RA/s320/November+2009+001.JPG" /></a><br />Emily turned ten! We had a little party with just us, my parents, and my sister Alice and her family. She chose chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, so I added a sprinkle 10.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSCkp48j6I/AAAAAAAAAYI/dn0CJlhLzV4/s1600/November+2009+008.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410092618610413474" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSCkp48j6I/AAAAAAAAAYI/dn0CJlhLzV4/s320/November+2009+008.JPG" /></a> Next came Halloween. It started with Alexis on Thursday. Instead of having a dress up day at her preschool, they had a scarecrow day. This is how she looked when I picked her up. So cute! </div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSDvq85JqI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/Ukuq_7XZ_0c/s1600/November+2009+014.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410093907385591458" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSDvq85JqI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/Ukuq_7XZ_0c/s320/November+2009+014.JPG" /></a> Friday morning was the traditional Halloween parade at school. I have always let the little ones dress up when they go to the parade, they like it. And finally, Saturday night. Here are the kids in front of the house before we left to go trick-or-treating. Mike made our porch scary, so that is a tarp that says "keep out" behind them. He had the spiders and the strobe light going on. He probably had more fun than the kids.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSGNL_FqWI/AAAAAAAAAYw/3SjTntguSjg/s1600/November+2009+026.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5410096613492631906" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SxSGNL_FqWI/AAAAAAAAAYw/3SjTntguSjg/s320/November+2009+026.JPG" /></a>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-8347482823153288212009-10-26T18:49:00.001-07:002009-10-26T19:12:43.946-07:00OctoberEmily got the first student of the month this year. I made her this dress because they felt that she was too young to be in the ceremony and I knew she would be heart broken if she was the only one there without a spiffy new outfit. I took her to the fabric store and let her pick out what she wanted, so we ended up with a pink dress with a sparkly overlay on the skirt. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Lastly, Dustin again. The poor boy lost his two front teeth. He's speaking with a hiss/lisp now. It's funny. The first tooth was hanging by a string so Mike pushed it and it fell out. The second tooth then went completely crooked and Dustin started showing me how cool it was that he could turn it all the way around. It was nasty so I grabbed him and made Mike yank it out. Yes, I am mean like that. It bled. A lot. So that is why there is a little bit of blood on his nose. Mike felt guilty and bought him a pack of pokemon cards, so he was happy then.<br /><br /></div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SuZV239Y70I/AAAAAAAAAX4/cGRBKVWn4O4/s1600-h/October+2009+012.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397095604672851778" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SuZV239Y70I/AAAAAAAAAX4/cGRBKVWn4O4/s320/October+2009+012.JPG" /></a> All I want for Halloween is my two front teeth!</div><div></div><div>Up next, Emily's birthday, then Halloween.<br /><div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-32340993863278306782009-09-23T21:34:00.000-07:002009-09-23T21:56:19.960-07:00I know, its been forever...Okay! I'm back. I took a nice long summer break. I enjoyed staying up late and sleeping in. I did not enjoy being a referee.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr3kizD0_I/AAAAAAAAAWg/JJ5Pz-Lo3UI/s1600-h/2009+310.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384888511663166450" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr3kizD0_I/AAAAAAAAAWg/JJ5Pz-Lo3UI/s320/2009+310.JPG" /></a> Here we are walking to school on the first day. Right as I pressed the button, Dustin ran in front of Mike, you can see his shoe if you look. I wanted this picture, but the sun was behind us and the shadows were bad, so I did not take another one.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr4P1FsKJI/AAAAAAAAAWo/Ff2lo0zflMI/s1600-h/2009+311.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384889255307520146" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr4P1FsKJI/AAAAAAAAAWo/Ff2lo0zflMI/s320/2009+311.JPG" /></a> Emily, first day of fifth grade. She was obviously very excited to be there. He actually was very excited and couldn't wait to see what friends were going to be in his class and to meet his teacher.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr5xMKPwXI/AAAAAAAAAW4/dWt7e-4BQxc/s1600-h/2009+314.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384890927947956594" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr5xMKPwXI/AAAAAAAAAW4/dWt7e-4BQxc/s320/2009+314.JPG" /></a> Here he is exploring his desk. He sat right down and started chatting with the little boy next to him like they'd known each other forever. It was so cute.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr6atsvZZI/AAAAAAAAAXA/zOTCxR3hX9o/s1600-h/2009+319.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384891641325643154" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Srr6atsvZZI/AAAAAAAAAXA/zOTCxR3hX9o/s320/2009+319.JPG" /></a> Here is Alexis the next day on her first day of preschool. She was super-duper excited. She hated being all alone all day last year while Dustin was in K. She was always asking me if she could go to school. She goes two days a week and doesn't stop talking about it in between. She keeps track of the days and knows when she goes. So she is loving it! </p><p>Mike and I are still plugging along in school. It's been about eight months. Only three more years to go...<br /></p>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-25731664269360037992009-08-06T18:09:00.000-07:002009-08-06T18:36:05.675-07:00A few summer happeningsIt's been a long summer. School is keeping Mike and I very busy. With his new job, we are not having a lot of time to do things. I haven't taken very many pictures at all this summer. We spent the fourth of July at my sister's house. She lives right by BC, so we get a nice, free show. This year we walked down the street to a friends' grandparents home and the show was even better! There was a really nice breeze, and it blew the fireworks right over us. At the end of the show it rained ash on us. A few of us even got hit by some large pieces of exploded cardboard. It was fun. We spent the day making bottle rockets out of old water bottles. Here is Alexis holding hers.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuAcjJfbNI/AAAAAAAAAV4/SPs71sl6lRw/s1600-h/July+2009+008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367024608901819602" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuAcjJfbNI/AAAAAAAAAV4/SPs71sl6lRw/s320/July+2009+008.JPG" border="0" /></a> My bro-in-law Eddie made a "launching pad" to shoot these off. They are powered by water and air. They shoot pretty high and you never know where they are going to land. I couldn't catch a flying one, but here is one ready to go, I think it might also be Alexis'.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuBJzLW1II/AAAAAAAAAWA/ECzuiE0Jrjk/s1600-h/July+2009+007.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367025386298725506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuBJzLW1II/AAAAAAAAAWA/ECzuiE0Jrjk/s320/July+2009+007.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Dustin wanted a "faux-hawk" but his hair would not co-operate, so he ended up getting his hair cut into a real mo-hawk. It looked cute for a while, but now that it is grown out, it is looking a little shabby. Here he is on the fourth.<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuCPpDVUCI/AAAAAAAAAWI/2tm16pO6Y0Y/s1600-h/July+2009+011.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367026586171559970" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuCPpDVUCI/AAAAAAAAAWI/2tm16pO6Y0Y/s320/July+2009+011.JPG" border="0" /></a> I tried to get pictures of the kids playing with the sparklers, but most of them turned out all blurry. I did not have the camera on the correct shutter speed for night. This is the only one that kind of turned out.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuCp5chp7I/AAAAAAAAAWQ/jPfrnzCf1HA/s1600-h/July+2009+012.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367027037248792498" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuCp5chp7I/AAAAAAAAAWQ/jPfrnzCf1HA/s320/July+2009+012.JPG" border="0" /></a> Alexis had her fourth birthday on July 10th. We ended up accidently having three parties for her. It's a good thing I made a cake and a ton of cupcakes. The first party was a little girls only party. Alexis invited over a few friends and they dressed up and played a few games. I painted all of their fingernails while they colored princess pictures. They also all made necklaces with beads and filled them with sand. I let the girls decorate their own cupcakes. They had a lot of fun. Here are all the girls dressed up. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuELKDNbmI/AAAAAAAAAWY/i7A-73E6T5M/s1600-h/July+2009+020.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367028708153323106" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SnuELKDNbmI/AAAAAAAAAWY/i7A-73E6T5M/s320/July+2009+020.JPG" border="0" /></a> We were supposed to have one big family party that night, but it didn't work out. Alice and Eddie had taken the day off of work and were leaving for a weekend trip, and Mike's sister and her kids couldn't make it until late, so we had two separate family parties. That's okay, then the house wasn't full all at once. I think Alexis had a really great day. Thanks to everyone who came and for the nice gifts.<br /><div></div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-30012499566569544252009-05-30T10:23:00.000-07:002009-05-30T11:02:05.821-07:00Dustin's kindergarten graduation<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYm3mmXI/AAAAAAAAAVw/KZaLVNhDw4E/s1600-h/Spring+2009+016.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341670902556170610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYm3mmXI/AAAAAAAAAVw/KZaLVNhDw4E/s320/Spring+2009+016.JPG" border="0" /></a> I can't believe this school year is over already. Dustin had a great time in Kindergarten and is eager to start first grade. He will really miss Mrs. Ramey. (He's absolutely gaga over her, but don't tell him I told you) She was passing out the diploma's so fast and so many parents were around taking pictures that I didn't get a really good one of them together. Oh well.<br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYSXGsyI/AAAAAAAAAVo/wCUnBMPJNJQ/s1600-h/Spring+2009+018.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341670897051153186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYSXGsyI/AAAAAAAAAVo/wCUnBMPJNJQ/s320/Spring+2009+018.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here he is in front of the cute backdrop that they made. <br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYMsrIaI/AAAAAAAAAVg/VONwiXoIJbA/s1600-h/Spring+2009+019.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341670895531008418" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/SiFtYMsrIaI/AAAAAAAAAVg/VONwiXoIJbA/s320/Spring+2009+019.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />And a close up of him and his diploma. He doesn't know how to smile for pictures. This is his fake, picture smile. (I hate it, he has such a cute real smile) So, now on to summer time. I am going to have to think of some busy things to do or they are going to drive me nuts. Emily will be in the fifth grade next year, and Alexis is going to start pre-school two days a week. That's going to be nice. It will allow me to actually get my own school work done without any interruptions. WooHoo! Oh, by the way, in case I didn't mention it before, Mike and I have both gone back to school. We do two classes at a time, and they are nine weeks each. Tomorrow is the last day of our second set of classes. It has been interesting. I think that the first couple of classes are to get you used to how things work at the school, and then they are really going to start laying the hard stuff on us. </div><div>Mike also (finally) got a job. He is working for T-Mobile. It seems to be going good so far. They just gave us the benifits package to fill out and it looks like it's pretty good, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper per month then we have ever payed. I am still trying to adjust to him being gone, and now the kids are here! So, if anybody is planning any little one-two day getaways and want some tag-a-longs let me know! (I meant me too, not just the kids)<br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-4091991322702974982009-05-20T22:10:00.000-07:002009-05-20T22:14:53.710-07:00The logic of the little one.Mike will probably kill me for this one, but it was so funny that I have to share. Mike wiggles around a lot in his sleep and his pants always come down a bit by morning. This morning he was sleeping on his stomach with his arms up under his head. It was warm so he had nothing over him. Alexis came in to wake him up. She climbed up on the bed and patted him, then got this huge look of concern on her face. "Daddy!" "What?" "Your butt cracked open!"<br /><br />I really needed a good laugh!Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-62563515402967100822009-05-06T20:23:00.000-07:002009-05-06T20:34:08.038-07:00Happy Birthday to me!31. There I said it. That wasn't so bad. This year for my birthday, I decided to take Disney up on their offer and enjoy a FREE day at Disneyland! It was a good day! The lines were practically non-existent. We walked onto almost every ride. Oh, by we, I mean my friend Alena and I. That's right, I went with NO kids. The weather was perfect. No sweater needed. Besides a nasty soaking on Splash Mountain (that took about three hours to dry from) I had an absolutly wonderful day. The only ride I didn't go on was the new Nemo submarine ride. That was the only thing in the park with a line, and it was a huge one. Everyone I know that has gone on it has said that it's not worth the wait, so I didn't wait. I didn't take a camera, so I have to wait for Alena to get me the pictures. I have to at least post the one from Splash Mountain. I don't know how good it will turn out, since it's a picture of the picture on the wall, but it's hilarious. It will have you laughing. I'm glad I can laugh at me and then share it so others can laugh at me too. Hopefully she'll get those to me soon! I would recommend Disneyland without kids any day!Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8101094565772493975.post-59652338287441599242009-04-17T17:53:00.000-07:002009-04-17T18:01:07.074-07:00Dustin's tooth<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Sekl8lNkajI/AAAAAAAAAVY/6SwOPVmTOD8/s1600-h/April+2009+026.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325829757053725234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Sekl8lNkajI/AAAAAAAAAVY/6SwOPVmTOD8/s320/April+2009+026.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Dustin finally lost his first tooth! We've been waiting for this for a long time. Since he was about three years old we could see these huge teeth waiting under his gums on his x-rays at his dentist appointments. He has been complaining of this tooth hurting for about a week now, and I kept asking him if it was loose, but he was saying no. So there it is. It's too bad the tooth fairy is broke, Emily has lost two in the last few weeks herself.</div><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Sekl8cSGAMI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/UJogOnrwXXc/s1600-h/April+2009+025.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325829754656784578" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2PDOhVc0EdI/Sekl8cSGAMI/AAAAAAAAAVQ/UJogOnrwXXc/s320/April+2009+025.JPG" border="0" /></a>Taylor Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09615857057331519468noreply@blogger.com1
